Approximately 20 community members attended the third Sampson Way Roadway Realignment Project presentation and workshop at the Port of Los Angeles High School cafeteria on Thursday, November 17, 2011. The design consultants presented a PowerPoint and 3D computer animation video of the Conceptual Design of the Refined T-Intersection at Harbor Blvd., Sampson Way and 7th Street. The presentation received a round of applause from the community. This workshop focused on the Refined T-Intersection only and the topics of Ports O' Call Parking and the 7th Street Harbor and Pier will be discussed at future workshops.
The presentation identified the three categories of concern from the previous workshops - Connectivity, Sense of Place and Engineering Design - and explained how each was addressed in the current design presentation. The presentation closed with a short, 3D animated video which was enthusiastically received.
After the presentation, the attendees were invited to stations set up at the back of the room where they were able to view renderings and question the design team members. Those attending were then asked to fill out comment cards indicating their perception of how the three areas of concern were addressed.
Comment cards will be received through January 15, 2012.
if you would like to send in your comments, please fill out the card found
