The San Pedro side of the L.A. Waterfront will stretch from the Vincent Thomas Bridge to Cabrillo Beach. Covering more than 400 acres of Port property, when completed the San Pedro waterfront will include be a focal point of the area not only for those who live here but also for visitors from all over the globe.
The San Pedro waterfront transformation has been ongoing for several years now. Beginning with the creation of the Cruise Ship Promenade and Gateway Plaza, several enhancements to the waterfront all either already completed or are currently under construction.
The biggest changes to the waterfront will come as the San Pedro Waterfront Project document is finalized and adopted by the Los Angeles Board of Harbor Commissioners. The Proposed Project includes everything from new recreational harbors to parks to museums to roadway improvements and even a new cruise ship terminal to increase tourism in the area.

22nd Street Park

This 16-acre park opened on January 9, 2010 and has been the talk of the town ever since. With four-and-a-half acres of flat, lovely turf for activities, walking trails, bocce ball courts, bike paths along its perimeter, 500 shade trees, meadow plants, restrooms and ample parking, this is the place to spend some time. The park is located along 22nd Street between Miner Street and Via Cabrillo Marina in San Pedro and has a lovely water view.
Gateway Plaza Fanfare Fountain

You don't have to travel to Las Vegas to see amazing fountains performing to music! The Gateway Plaza Fanfare Fountain at the Port of Los Angeles opens at 10 a.m. and offers shows throughout the day, including closely-spaced shows during the noontime lunch hour and in the evenings. Featuring such tunes as "I Love L.A.," "Linus and Lucy," and the theme from E.T., the Fanfare Fountain is a great place to take in the whole family. Click here for more information on the Fountain and current show schedule.
Cruise Ship Promenade

In the perfect location to view cruise ships as they come and go from the Port, the Cruise Ship Promenade offers the perfect place for a short stroll, lounging on main-deck style chairs, enjoying the moving art sculpture and even a game of Bocce Ball. Conveniently located to the Catalina Express Terminal and the Lane Victory Museum, the Cruise Ship Promenade is a must-see on your visit to the Port of Los Angeles.
Harbor Boulevard Promenade

A full mile of beautiful Promenade, a stroll on the Harbor Boulevard Promenade will take you from the Fanfare Fountain to 5th Street in San Pedro, home to the Downtown Plaza. Along the way you can enjoy distant views of the Port's Main Channel, colorful histories of the area carved into "Story Ropes" in the walkways, lush landscaping and even an interactive fountain where you can enjoy getting a little wet on hot days.
Downtown Plaza
Arriving at the Downtown Plaza, you can view Fire Station 112, home to the world's most powerful Fire Boat, visit the Los Angeles Maritime Museum, take a ride on the Waterfront Red Car Line, a revival of the historic Pacific Electric Red Cars, visit Ports O' Call Village or head up into Downtown San Pedro for a unique restaurant experience and shopping.
Warehouse 1 Outlook

One of the most amazing views of the Port can be had from the Warehouse 1 Outlook. From this vantage point, you can see down the Main Channel and out to the Pacific Ocean. The Outlook area offers parking, a lighted outlook platform and benches to enjoy the view. The Outlook is adjacent to Warehouse 1, the oldest warehouse at the Port of Los Angeles - notice the gargoyle downspouts!
