SAN PEDRO PUBLIC MARKET REBRANDED AS WEST HARBOR, ANNOUNCES GLADSTONE'S AS ANCHOR TENANT

 

The landmark, 42-acre waterfront destination formerly known as San Pedro Public Market reveals reimagined design strategy, new branding, and new name today: West Harbor. The bold new visual identity and fresh name reflect the evolution of this pioneering San Pedro-based project; the development has grown substantially from initial plans to reinvigorate the former Ports O’ Call restaurants (a high-yielding commercial hot spot reporting approximately $50 million in gross annual sales), into a modern and vibrant harbor-side entertainment district featuring a broad array of retail, dining and public attractions unlike any other in Southern California--and beyond.

PROMENADE & TOWN SQUARE PROJECT SCHEDULED TO OPEN SUMMER 2021

Since the groundbreaking ceremony for the San Pedro Promenade and Town Square Project in January 2020, the project, located at 6th Street and Harbor Boulevard,  has been steadily moving forward. Plans include a new public promenade that runs parallel to the Los Angeles Main Channel for nearly one mile, meeting the new town square at 6th Street, just east of Harbor Boulevard. The promenade and town square will include such amenities as public seating, landscaping, hardscaping, signage, architectural finishes, handrails and lighting. Construction is expected to begin in 2020 at a total project cost of $32.9 million, paid by the Port of Los Angeles. Completion is scheduled for Summer 2021.

PORT, LADWP LAND EXCHANGE WILL FACILITATE THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE AVALON PROMENADE AND GATEWAY

City of Los Angeles officials announced an innovative land exchange transaction between the Port of Los Angeles and the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power that will enable the Port ot proceed with the development of the Avalon Promenade and Gateway.

HISTORIC WATERFRONT WAREHOUSE AVAILABLE FOR COMMERCIAL DEVELOPMENT

 

The Port of Los Angeles is seeking a public-private partnership to redevelop the historic Warehouse No. 1 as a commercial and visitor-serving facility. With panoramic views of the LA Waterfront and Santa Catalina Island, the municipal building is one the most iconic and recognizable at the Port.


ALTASEA RECEIVES $5 MILLION PHILANTHROPIC DONATION FROM LUNDQUISTS

Southern California philanthropists Richard and Melanie Lundquist have made a $5 million gift to AltaSea at the Port of Los Angeles to advance ocean sustainability programs. The Lundquists’ gift was made in memory of their friend Leonard Aube, the late Executive Director of the Annenberg Foundation who died in 2015 and was the driving force behind the creation of AltaSea.
